A Few Updates

Last week was my first week of my new class. I am taking Business Law and yes, it is going to be very engaging and hard! It is pretty interesting but there is a lot of homework.

In other news, Blake had a very successful first week of school. He had a little bit of separation anxiety and still does. But for the most part, he did very well.

We also got some expected news today. Blake and I visited the ENT doctor this morning and found out pretty much what we thought....he needs tubes :( I pretty much know what to expect with the surgery since Kylie got tubes this past April. She did very good with the surgery and has ever since then. I know this is the best thing for Blake. The doctor said that as of this morning, he had an infection in his left ear and his right ear had a lot of thick fluid in it. No wonder he can't talk...he can't hear! Poor baby!

So we went ahead and didn't waste anytime and his surgery is scheduled for this Wednesday. I honesty can't wait. I know that this will make so much difference in his speech. He is going to be a new person!

In other news, my mom and I went to the Rascal Flatts concert last night at the Kentucky State Fair. It was AWESOME! I love Rascal Flatts and now I love Chris Young! Kelly Pickler was also there and she had a good performance too. Here are a few pictures from our night.

Our seats were awesome! I got to go with mom since dad is off to his new job. I am pretty proud to say that my dad works for FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency). There has been some major flooding in Chicago so he will be there for some time. Luckily he gets some time off next weekend so he gets to be at Kylie's birthday party! Can you believe that she will be 1!!! I can't!

Hope you have a wonderful week! Think of us on Wednesday when Blake has his surgery.

Successful Day!

Blake did AMAZING at his first day of school today! I was more nervous than he was - dropping him off and picking him up. With his speech delay, I was nervous that he wouldn't be able to communicate well with the teachers and the other little kids. However I was very wrong. The teacher, Ms. Hollie, said that Blake did great! In the morning there were a couple of breakdowns when she told him 'no', but it got much better throughout the day and he even peed in the potty....which he has NEVER done before!

I think this change will be so good for Blake. I am excited to see how he does the rest of the week and the rest of the month. I know this is going to help his speech improve very quickly.

Here are a few pictures of the big boy! Cousins Austin and Katie were also there today. Austin started the 4 year old class and Katie had her first day in the same 2 year old class as Blake.

Big Boy!!

I no longer have a little boy in my house. Last night was Blake's first successful night in a big boy bed! We turned his crib into a toddler bed Saturday night, and the picture below is from this morning before he woke up. So cute!

I love this picture of Kylie. She doesn't know which phone to talk on!

Also, tomorrow marks a HUGE day for Blake....It is his first day of preschool!! I will have pictures of that later this week.

Our Travels

Please excuse my absence, Aaron and I have been traveling the world! Well at least the East coast :)

This is your warning, this post will be long with many pictures :)

We (Aaron and I) left early Saturday morning on August 14th and headed to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It took us a little over 10 hours to get there and we were very happen to arrive. Neither of us had been to Philly before, so we wanted to include this stop in our travels to NYC.

Our hotel was fabulous and what made it even better, we had a handicap room so there was extra room!

When we walk into the hotel to check-in, this is the first thing I see. Yes, it is a girl's dream! However I didn't buy anything (at least this time!).

We met up with one of my friends from high school, Bethany, and had an awesome Philly Cheese Steak and some drinks. The next day, we did all of the things tourists would do in Philly - the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, a boat tour, and much walking. I have never been a real 'history buff', but seeing everything about our nation's history really intrigued me. Here are a few pics of day:

I have to include this picture of Kylie when we were Skyping the second night in Philly. So Cute!

On Monday morning, we headed to New York City and started our week-long adventure. It was a great week and Aaron and I had a wonderful time. Our camera started getting an error on the way into NY so we only had a back-up (my mom's small camera) for a day after that since we didn't have a charger. We took many pictures with our phones so they aren't the best :( Oh well! We will have to go back! Here are the pictures from our adventures:

This was our room. Very small and cozy!

Saw this show and it was amazing

Had a couple of these

Went to a game here (and these were our seats - AWESOME!)

Picture of Aaron's cousin Susan and us at the game

Saw this lovely lady

Went to see the Cake Boss, but only got a picture since there was a two hour wait to get in :(

Had a couple of slices of this

Got a picture of Aaron next to NYSE

Went to see the place where two building once stood. It was really sad :(

View from the top of the Empire State Building

Times Square view at night....it was so crowded, bright, crazy at 11pm at night!

We had a fabulous time and I would definitely go again. However I am SO happy to be home with my babies. I missed them so much! I am NOT looking forward to work tomorrow nor am I excited about my first class for the semester which also happens to be tomorrow. Oh well!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!!

29 Tuesdays

My birthday was Tuesday and it was a great day. Of course I had to work, but after work, we went to dinner with my entire family (minus some cousins). There were 17 of us so I decided since we were such a large crowd and the louder the restaurant, the more quiet my kids are :) I chose to go to Buffalo Wild Wings, which is one of my favorite restaurants and it was a great dinner. I didn't bring my camera so I didn't get any pictures :(

So instead, I will put some pictures of the kids since I haven't in so long :) Also, please check out this link. We had the kids pictures taken on Sunday, which was a catastrophe, but the photographer did a great job and actually got some good ones!

These pictures are taken with my new lens that I got today, which I love!

Kylie Rose - 11 Months

Today is my sweet baby girl's 11 month birthday. She is getting so big! She is really starting to show her personality and her love for everyone.

Here is a quick update for her:

Kylie you are such a mommy's girl! You get so excited when mommy and daddy walk into the room, and daddy will admit that you are are mommy's girl :)

You love your big brother. You try to do everything he does including playing with his toys and drinking his milk.

You are a pro at crawling. You are pretty fast!

You can walk with a walker or with help. I can't wait for you to start walking!

You are in size 4 diaper and wear size 12-18 month clothing.

We went to the doctor the other day (for some stomach issues) and you weighed 24 lbs, 3 ozs.

You are very cuddly and you love it when mommy sings to you when you are tired.

You love swimming in Nana and Papa's pool.

Your hair is getting so long and I can put it in a small ponytail on top of your head.

You are starting to jabber a lot more. You say momma and dada and you growl like a dog when Jackson barks. It's so cute!

You are very sensitive. You cry when Blake takes a toy away from you (which is quite often) until you are distracted (which is pretty easy to do).

Here is a picture of you drinking Blake's milk. You love it!

I found this picture of you the other day and you can see how big you've gotten!

Here is a picture of you on the move!
You are getting to be such a big girl. Mommy and Daddy love you very much and we can't wait until your 1st birthday next month!

On another note, the big 29 is tomorrow and I think it sounds so old :) Aaron gave me my birthday present tonight and it is the new Kindle! It is on back-order so I won't get it until September, but I can't wait. We are also only 5 days away from New York City!! I can't wait but I will miss my babies soooo much. I know Aaron and I will have a great time.

Have a great week everyone!

Girlfriends

Tonight my best friend from high school came over and our baby girls got to play together for a bit. Kylie didn't know what to think of Aislin. She wanted to keep touching her face and wanted play with any toy she was playing with. I am sure they will share all of their toys in a few years and become the best of friends like me and her mommy. I can't wait for them to grow up together!
