Our Crazy, Busy Life

Breakdown of the past two weeks:
  • The stomach bug came and attacked our entire house....Kylie started it.
  • After recovering from the stomach bug, Kylie and Blake got the Hand, Foot and Mouth Virus - aka Mad Cow Disease. Just kidding but it was not fun. Thank goodness they are over it.
  •  Kylie is still a diva...see picture number uno below.
  • Blake has made great strides with his speech. There are still times that we have no clue what he is saying but we eventually figure it out.
  • Daddy, Blake and I went to see Cars 2 and it was great. Blake ate almost a entire large popcorn himself.
  • I had my monthly date with my high school girlfriends and of course it was a blast.
  • I got to see my college girlfriends whom I haven't seen is so long. We got to celebrate Sarah who will be introducing baby Codi Reese in a couple of months. It was so nice to catch up with everyone.
  • Have a great week!

Prayers for Hudson!

Please everyone say a little prayer today for Hudson. He is the son of a friend of mine from college who is getting a new airway today! He currently has a trach and today they are doing a very delicate and complicated surgery in which surgeons will build him a new airway. You can read more about thier journey HERE on Brittany's blog.

We will be praying for you, HB! I know you will do GREAT and mommy and daddy will soon be able to hear that sweet voice of yours they have been waiting to hear.

Baby Bird!

We had a baby shower today for a dear friend of mine who is due in April. It was so good to see many of my college girlfriends. I realize how much I miss all of them when I get to spend time with them.

Amanda, Baby Bird's mommy, is a really good friend of mine from college. We have gotten even closer over the past few years since she lives and works pretty close to me. I am so excited for her and her husband to become parents. This little guy they are about to bring into this world is so lucky to have amazing, wonderful parents like Jasper and Amanda. I cannot wait to meet their little man!

Jasper and Amanda are keeping the name a secret until he is born which is killing me. I love embroidered things so it is driving me nuts! So we are calling the little guy Baby Bird because of Amanda's nickname in college.

I love planning showers and parties so I knew it was going to be a fun day.

A fun craft we had for the crafty mom-to-be....the nursery is a 'bird' theme with the colors below. I think they turned out adorable!

Kylie and Macy had similar hair styles....both had the pebbles hairdo.

Catch-Up, 2 Great Weekends

I have a lot of catching up to do! It has been a busy two weeks and I am typing this as we are driving back from a weekend in Gatlinburg. It was a nice relaxing weekend away with some great friends who we haven’t seen in awhile.

Last weekend wasn’t too busy. I got to meet two of my best friends for brunch on Sunday then we went to Churchill Downs with my family.

This was our awesome view from our indoor box.

Kristin, Me and Mom

This weekend we both took off on Friday and dropped the kids off a daycare and headed to meet some friends at a cabin in Gatlinburg. We had a nice relaxing weekend and did a lot of catching up and a little shopping. Here is the one and only picture I took in Gatlinburg before my camera died. We took a group picture which someone else had so I will add later.

This was the view from on deck at the cabin.

Here are some other pictures that were on my camera of the kiddos that I took last Thursday, just out of the bath.

This week is going to be short and sweet. I have to work on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, but luckily since I have an awesome boss, I am working from home on Wednesday. Wednesday we are getting DirectTV installed and also Blake has his fall party at school and I am going. I am really excited because I haven’t gotten to see him really interact with the other kids in his class. My sister will also be there since my niece is in his class.

Everyone is off on Thursday and I am also off on Friday. The kids will be staying with their grandparents in Kentucky so it will be the perfect opportunity for me to put up all of the Christmas decorations and maybe do a little work on my paper for school. It should be a great week!

I hope everyone has a good week! I know I will!

Girlfriends

Tonight my best friend from high school came over and our baby girls got to play together for a bit. Kylie didn't know what to think of Aislin. She wanted to keep touching her face and wanted play with any toy she was playing with. I am sure they will share all of their toys in a few years and become the best of friends like me and her mommy. I can't wait for them to grow up together!

What A Week!

Last week/weekend was crazy! It all started Wednesday night and continued until Sunday night. I am still tired, but I wouldn't trade any of it.

Wednesday my mom, sister, the kids and I went to dinner with Vicki and Meg. Meg is Kristin's best friend from high school and Vicki is her mom. We try to meet up around every month and have dinner. We had great food and great company!

Thursday night Kylie and I went to dinner with my high school besties. There are 8 of us who try to get together every month or so and we have a blast. Kylie didn't have her best night because she was so tired. Next time, I will be child-free! We ate at Kobe and that is always an awesome experience. Yummy!

Friday night Aaron and I dropped the kids off at mom and dad's and headed to the River (Ohio River) to meet up with 3 other couples from high school. It was the other girls and their hubbies who planned our high school reunion and we were celebrating that all of the planning was over (at least until another 10 years)!

We cooked out then went to a little bar across the street for Karaoke night! SO. MUCH. FUN. I had not been karaoking since college and it was a blast. Aaron even got up there! Here are some pictures from the night.

(It was 95 degrees that night so pay no attention to the lovely hair and sweatiness)

Saturday night we had a going-away party for one of my besties from college. We had a nice dinner and great conversations. I forgot to take pictures until after Brittany left so I didn't get a girls picture :(  I will miss Ashley so much when she moves to Nashville! We have had many lunch dates over the last few years and I will miss her being so close!

Sunday my MIL and I threw a baby shower for one of Aaron's best friends from high school and his wife. They are having a baby boy in a couple of weeks and we can't wait to meet him! I created one of my diaper cakes for the event and I think it turned out cute! I also ordered some embroidered burp clothes for 'Jack' which turned out adorable. I got them from Sew Many Blessings Embroidery if you are interested, very cute stuff! Here are some pictures from the shower.

I will leave you with this cutie patootie...

Have a great week!

Another Busy Weekend...

We had yet another busy weekend, but a fun one. Saturday my MIL and I went to a camera class since we have the same camera, and really only know how to point and shoot. It was ALOT of information, but I think if we practice, we can be really good one day!

We went on to Aaron's parents house and we cooked out so Blake got to play outside. It has been so hot lately, the heat index has been 100's lately, so we got the sprinkler out so he could run through it. We didn't know how he would react since he has never done it before...let's just say he didn't want to get wet at all.

On Sunday, we went to Peyton's 4th birthday party. Peyton is the daughter of our really good friends Josh and Catherine. Her party was at Gatti-town in Lexington, and I think Aaron was just as excited as all of the kids there. He LOVES their pizza! We took the kids on the carousel and Blake was pretty unsure about it at first. Kylie was pretty happy as you can see. She has started smiling whenever I take a picture of her...her little smile is too cute! We had a really good time and I think Blake did too.

Happy Birthday Peyton!!
