Meeting Cousin John

A few weekends ago the kids got to meet their cousin John for the first time. Unfortunately I was not able to make the trip because I had a presentation and a paper I needed to work on for school. Below are some of the pictures from the day. I knew Kylie would be excited to meet him because she is such a little momma and loves taking care of her little baby dolls.

Grandpa Roger, Kylie, Blake and Aunt Wilhelma

Grandmom reading a book to the kids as they wait for John to get there.

This is my favorite picture of the ones Aaron took. Kylie looks so sweet and Blake looks so excited!

They said that Kylie was facinated with is toes.

And of course of picture of Grandpa and his three grandbabies.

I know Grammy was watching from Heaven and smiling with her big, beautiful smile. She loved Blake and Kylie so much and I know she would be crazy about John.

Shower for Ashley & Amelia

A few weeks ago a few friends and I threw a shower for one of my best friends, Ashley, who is having a baby Amelia in June. I am so excited for her and her husband Sean. I know that this little girl is going to the cutest little girl and I cannot wait to meet her! We did a 'Sunshine' theme and I think it turned out very cute!

Everyone loved the cake pops. I have made them the last few showers I have thrown and of course I got the recipe off of Pinterest. Here is the link I used and I love this recipe. It's not hard, but it does take some time to do.

Amanda, Megan, Guest of Honor Ashley and me

We had a great turnout for the shower and Ashley got a lot of very cute things! Can't wait to meet you Ms. Amelia Jane!

Easter 2012

We had a quiet Easter this year. I took almost 100 pictures on that Sunday so I slimmed it down to the few below.

The Easter bunny came to the house! I can honestly say that the kids were more excited about their $1 crayons and bubbles than their new bikes.  Kylie got a princess bike and Blake got a spiderman bike.

We had an Easter egg hunt. Kylie wasn't in her dress because she spilled something all over it so she is in her play outfit for the day.

Blake did a little fishing.

And talking on the (fake) phone to his girlfriend.

Ate some cupcakes.

Played some baseball.

It was a very pretty day outside so the kids were outside most of the day. Hope everyone had a great Easter!

Happy Birthday and The Zoo!

Busy is an understatement when describing these past few weeks. It has been an emotional roller coaster to say the least. School is almost over so these past few weeks have been super busy for me on top of juggling everything else. I have two more papers and one more presentation and I will be done until June 26 and that is when it gets really intense. However that class, which is the capstone class to the program, is only six weeks so I can do anything for six weeks, right? Especially since two days after I finish we are leaving for our cruise! CAN.NOT.WAIT!

I have missed updating the blog with a lot of things this month. First of all, it was my niece’s 4th birthday on the 21st! I cannot believe she is 4! This is her the day before her birthday at school in her pretty birthday dress. I think she looks so much like my sister in this picture!

This month we also took a trip to the zoo. Katie went with us because school was closed for the day due to Good Friday. We had a really good time! Here is a picture collage from our day.

There have been many more happenings this month but I want to break them up into separate posts.

To end this post, I want to ask anyone who reads my blog to please pray for my grandfather as well as someone else who I want to keep private. My grandfather fell last week and luckily he didn't break any bones but he is still pretty sore. Someone has to be with him at all times so please pray that he regains his strength soon. For my other prayer request please play that they regain strength and get well soon.

Have a great remainder of the week!

March 23rd

I have attempted to write this post numerous times in the past two weeks. I continue to be at a loss for words when talking about Paula. I miss her very much as do many others.

March 23rd was a very special day. We honored one of the most important people in my life and I got another glimpse of how special Paula was to so many people. At her school where she taught since 1993, they had a beautiful ceremony with a bench dedication in front of the school. I have included the newspaper clipping about the ceremony (to read it you will need click on it to make it larger). Her peers and friends had such kinds words to say of her. At the ceremony there was a student who was tutored by Paula who spoke. It was so touching because it showed how much of an impact Paula made on people. She cried the entire time she spoke, as did I and many others.

Below are some pictures of the evening. It is a beautiful bench for a beautiful woman.
