Success!

This year I finally started a garden. It is a pretty small garden, but just big enough for me. I planted tomatoes, peppers, garden beans, and watermelon that I grew from seeds. You can read here on how I started them. I also planted some zucchini plants.

I haven't had to water them much because of the location in my backyard, and we have had enough rain....thank goodness because I usually forget to water them.

I decided last night to go out and check on them since it had been awhile since I really looked at them. I walked out and saw this -

The huge plants on the right are the zucchini plants. They completely took over my 4x4 garden box! The taller plants on the left are my tomatoes plants and they are also doing very well.

So I made my way down to the garden to see if I had any veggies and I was so excited to see these -

(I put Kylie's paci beside them for comparison)

Here is a picture of how my tomatoes plants are doing, too-

I was so excited to see these! There is just something about growing my own veggies that makes me feel like I have accomplished something. Now I know how each of the plants grow, I will plant them differently next year. I am hoping to put another raised garden bed right beside the current one for twice the room.

We also took the kids out to swing tonight so here are a few pictures of their swing time. Blake still LOVES it. He also wanted to go down the slide and after the first time, he walked up the slide to slide down again, and again and again. He was so excited when he did it!

New Jammies

I took some cute pics of the kiddos tonight in their new jammies. Blake hasn't been feeling good the past two days so he isn't his perky self. Kylie was her usual smiley Kylie self...too cute!

You can see her two bottom teeth in this one!

I love her little hand in this one

Another Busy Weekend...

We had yet another busy weekend, but a fun one. Saturday my MIL and I went to a camera class since we have the same camera, and really only know how to point and shoot. It was ALOT of information, but I think if we practice, we can be really good one day!

We went on to Aaron's parents house and we cooked out so Blake got to play outside. It has been so hot lately, the heat index has been 100's lately, so we got the sprinkler out so he could run through it. We didn't know how he would react since he has never done it before...let's just say he didn't want to get wet at all.

On Sunday, we went to Peyton's 4th birthday party. Peyton is the daughter of our really good friends Josh and Catherine. Her party was at Gatti-town in Lexington, and I think Aaron was just as excited as all of the kids there. He LOVES their pizza! We took the kids on the carousel and Blake was pretty unsure about it at first. Kylie was pretty happy as you can see. She has started smiling whenever I take a picture of her...her little smile is too cute! We had a really good time and I think Blake did too.

Happy Birthday Peyton!!

The Army Crawl

When did the army crawl become so cute? Well, at least it's cute when Kylie does it :) She was rolling and doing the army crawl all over the living room tonight. One minute I saw her and the next she was gone!

Here is a little video from tonight.

On a side note, last night was my last class for my summer session!!! I am so relieved and happy to be able to spend some time with my babies....at least until August 23rd.

10 Year Class Reunion

This past weekend was my 10 year high school reunion. I, along with three other girlfriends (we were the 4 class officers), planned the weekend festivities. It was a very stressful weekend, but I had a blast and I think everyone else did too. Friday night we reserved one side of a restaurant and had a limited menu. It was in downtown Louisville so there was plenty of opportunity for people to go out after dinner. We had 50 out of 118 from our class show up! We had a great turnout!

Saturday we had a picnic at our state park. The turnout was OK, but I think everyone was sleeping from the night before.

Saturday night was my high school's alumni dinner. My school has the oldest and largest alumni in the state of Indiana. I really feel privileged to be a part of it.

Here are all of the pictures from the weekend.Enjoy!

Legally Blonde

Tonight, four of my college girlfriends and I went to see Legally Blonde - The Musical and it was GREAT!!!

We got a few pics of the event below.

I highly recommend this play!

9 Months

Today, Ms. Kylie Rose is 9 months old! Wow times flies! Here is an update for Kylie:

You are almost crawling! When you are on the floor, you scoot with all you got to get to the toy in front of you. You can roll with the best of them :)

You are so cute when you clap your hands! It happens often because Blake loves to clap and scream 'YEA!!!' You follow right along, yelling and clapping.

Speaking of following along, you are Blake's little shadow. The other night in the bath tub, Blake started kicking and splashing and when you saw him do it, you kicked and splash too.

You love any kind of food, especially food from mommy's plate! You love your puffs too!

We went swimming for the first time a couple of weeks ago and you love getting in the pool with mommy and daddy and sitting in your baby pool!

You also love to swing on the swingset with Blake. Your little giggle is so sweet!

You are growing up too fast! Mommy and Daddy love you so much!

Five years ago today, I married my best friend. When I look back at that day now, all I remember is how perfect it was. It was VERY hot, but perfect. I can vaguely remember a couple instances of 'bridezilla', but not many :)

Aaron and I had been together for two years before we got married. You can read how we met here.

I wouldn't change anything about our special day and I look forward to many more years as Aaron's wife.

Swinging & Swimming

It's been awhile since I've blogged. So here is what is going on at the Thacker House -

School is just about to kill me. It's only 6 weeks (13 classes) so it's pretty intense. I just had my first test this past Tuesday and I really don't want to know how I did. I have case readings that I have to do before each class, so either I have to do work almost every night, or all on the weekend. I'm stressed just thinking about it!

The kiddo's still LOVE to swing on the swingset. I think Blake could actually sleep in his swing - which he almost did this past weekend. And he still throws a fit when he has to come inside. Unless, however, there is food waiting for him inside. He has started to like the slide too!

Here are some pictures of them swinging. Such happy babies!

Blake has also loved playing with his new Tball set he got for his birthday.

Memorial Weekend was so nice. I wish every weekend was three days! It was the first time the kids were able to get into Nana and Papa's pool. Blake is still pretty unsure about it. I really hope he starts to enjoy it! Kylie loved being in the pool. Especially in the baby pool we got her. Blake also got to enjoy some time with his girlfriend Ellie. They had a nice outside dinner together.
