Blake's Best

There are many things in this world that Blake loves right now but I thought I would try to narrow it down to his top ten favorite. Because today was a very lazy Saturday, we were able to capture pictures of everything.

A little update for Blake:
You are getting so big!! You weigh around 28lbs and you have gotten so tall. You are very skinny but you eat like a horse. I think you ate more than me tonight for dinner! You are very active. There are few times you will sit still unless you are tired or you don't feel well. I also don't think you walk anywhere. You RUN at every opportunity possible, and you are very fast! Kylie loves to watch you run around the house like a crazy man.

So back to Blake's Best. Here they are in order with number one being his favorite. It was hard to distinguish between the top five because he pretty much loves them equally.

10. The Itsy-Bitsy Spider
Whenever we start singing this song, Blake will drop whatever he is doing and start doing the motions to the song. He tries to sing along but he doesn't vocalize his singing ability much :) He gets so excited at the end of the song so he screams and claps very loud.

9. Nutter Butter's and Milk
Blake loves his milk but even more with Nutter Butter's. He can eat an entire individual package of them in one sitting (that is if Jackson doesn't steal any).

8. Bed time
Blake loves to sleep and he has since he was born. He has slept through the night since he was a month old and now even gets excited when we ask him if he's ready for bed. He will run to his bedroom and wait for us to put him in his crib. He also loves his blanket with the satin on the edges.

7. Bananas
Blake would eat bananas after each meal if we gave him one. The only catch is he wants to hold the banana himself so the best way to keep the furniture banana free is to sit him in his high chair and let him go.

6. 'Your Baby Can Read' Cards
We ordered this system when Blake was almost one and he has always loved the videos and the flash cards. He will sit and look at them over and over.

5. Legos
Blake got his first set of Legos for Christmas this past year and he LOVES them! Again this is a toy that he can sit and play for hours with and not get tired of them. I know this is his favorite toy because they are the first thing he goes to in the morning when he gets up.

4. Jackson
Blake loves Jackson to death. Blake doesn't say a lot of words but he can sure say Jackson!

3. Go Dogs Go!
Blake got this book from Grammy and Grandpa for Christmas 2008 and has loved it ever since. This is his 'go to' book when he wants to actually sit down for a minute for us to read to him. I think he knows every word in the book. He will start to say 'stop' when we get to that page in the book. I know I can recite it from memory at any time!

2. Shrek
Aaron and I know every word to Shrek 1, 2 & 3 from watching it so many times. I know of at least one time we watched Shrek 1 three times in one day. Each time he watches it, he sits there like it is the first time he has seen it. Pretty much nothing can distract him. (Kylie is starting to love it just as much!) I'm excited because Shrek 4 is coming out in April!

1. Mommy, Daddy & Kylie
Of course we would by number one for Blake. He loves Kylie so much. For the most part he is gentle with her but there are times when she is laying on the floor and he tries to roll on top of her. He loves to give mommy, daddy and Kylie kisses all of the time.

This was probably one of my favorite posts to do because Blake was so cute today. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

Jackson

This past Tuesday was my eldest son's birthday. Jackson turned 7 years old!!! For those of you who do not know, Jackson is our pit bull puppy dog. Yes I still call him a puppy dog mainly because he thinks he is a puppy. He'll jump in your lap and lick your face...and he weighs 75 lbs. We have always cuddled with him and held him like a puppy so mentally, he probably still thinks he is. Aaron still lets him jump in his lap and lick his face so he thinks it's ok to do it to everyone else. He loves to lick Blake and Kylie and most of the time, neither of them mind. However there are times that Blake gets so mad at Jackson that he turns to him and screams "NO!!".

We adopted Jackson when he was 6 weeks old so he has pretty much been in our care all of his life. We have been strict with him mainly because of his breed's reputation. We didn't want people to be afraid to come over because of Jackson. For the most part, he is really good when anyone comes to the house. However he does get VERY excited when we have visitors and again, he wants to lick them in the face.

Jackson HATES getting baths but LOVES the beach. Not sure how this happened but we took him to the beach a couple of years ago and he loved playing Frisbee on the beach and jumping into the waves. I think he dreams about it at night :) We will be going to the beach this fall with Aaron's family and Jackson will be going with us. He was pumped when we told him!

Aaron and I took Jackson to a dog obedience school when I was pregnant with Blake. He did very well and Aaron and I learned a lot. We both learned how to walk with Jackson without him running off, how to keep him calm when we have visitors and how to be gentle with people. We have kind of slacked off lately and really haven't worked with him much. However for the most part, Jackson is still very good.

We can tell that Jackson is getting older. His beard is getting very gray and you can really tell since he is a very beautiful red color. He also sleeps a lot and gets tired very fast. However when he sees my father-in-law Roger, he acts like a puppy again. We can just say 'Roger' and shakes his butt and looks around for him.

Here are some pictures of Jackson when he was a pup and some recent pics. I also included one from the beach.

Happy 7th Birthday Jackson!!!

Happy Birthday Austin!

This week my nephew Austin turned 4 years old. I can't believe he is already four years old!!! It seems like yesterday my sister found out she was pregnant. Even though Austin is my nephew, I love him like he is my own. My sister and I live 5 minutes from each other so there aren't many weeks or even days that go by that I don't see or at least talk to him on the phone. He is the first baby in our family since my youngest brother (who is 22) so to say the least, he has been very spoiled.

Kristin, my sister, had a get together at her house tonight for Austin's party and below are some pictures from the party.

Kylie smiling at Nana.

Blake smiling at Kylie.

Happy 4th Birthday Austin!! Aunt KK loves you!

Kylie Update

So we went to the doctor today to get the results of Kylie's Kidney ultrasound and also it was the check-up on her ear infection. I have prayed all day that both were perfect because if she still had an ear infection, we would have to go and visit the ENT and if her ultrasound wasn't perfect, I was just worry and dread whatever the next steps were.
Well the doc said her ear was clear (thank goodness). I know tubes aren't so bad but I didn't want to have to even go through that (and I am sure Kylie didn't want to either). They found a minor issue with her ultrasound. Since I am really not a medical person, I didn't understand everything she was saying but basically the end of the urethra that connects to one of her kidneys was dilated. Dr. Pringle said that this was not uncommon and she wasn't too worried. However she wanted to do a follow-up ultrasound in 3 months to make sure it looked ok.
Even though doc wasn't worried, I was freaking out inside. You never want your baby to be sick or have any abnormalities and even though this was 'not a big worry' for the doc, I wanted to cry. Now that I have let everything sink in, I feel better about it. Especially since Kylie is acting soooo much better. I know that if it was a issue at all, the doctor would let us know. They also took another urine sample to make sure she didn't have another UTI.
I took a few pics of her tonight because in the past few days, she has been turning completely over and hold her head up really good when she is on her belly. As you can see in the first picture she gets really mad when she is on her belly for longer than 2 minutes. She has also found her feet and LOVES them!! Can you tell?

UK Game

This weekend was nice and went by way too fast. We dropped the kiddos off at Grammy and Grandpa's in Versailles and then Kristin and Jeremy picked us up and we were on our way to Lexington for the UK/UT game. Mom and Dad bought us the tickets for Christmas, along with a room at the Hilton so I knew this was going to be a great weekend! We went to Pazzo's for dinner which is an awesome pizza pub. The game was at 9pm so we had plenty of time to hang out. Yes I know, 9pm is usually pretty close to my bedtime so I knew it was going to be a long, interesting night.

The seats for the game were pretty far up but the experience is what was awesome. I can agree that heat rises because it was hot up there! It was a great game and I am glad that we got to go to that particular one. It was a huge rivalry...however I think there were only 13 TN fans in the stands.

After the game we went to Redmon's, a bar we use to go to when we were in college. We had a blast but I think we were the oldest in there!

I have included some pics from the night. It was an awesome night but I missed the kids. I now know why we don't go out much!

Sick Little Girl

So today has been very interesting. Just to give some background, Kylie has had an ear infection since December. At her 3 month checkup, she had a double ear infection and when she went back, they said it was cleared up. Then a few weeks after that, she was not acting like herself so we took her back and she had another ear infection. When we went back for a checkup again, it was still not cleared up so they gave her something else. That was last Tuesday and last night, she had a fever. We gave her tylenol and put her to bed, sleeping all night. She woke up this morning with a fever of 102, we gave her some more tylenol and put her back to bed (which she wanted because she was so tired). She woke up again with a temp (103) so I called the doc. She suggested we go to the ER, mainly because of how high her temp was and she was so young (5 months). So since it was Sunday, of course we had to go to the ER instead of the doctor's office. Fun fun. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. We were only there for 3 hrs which was better than I thought it was going to be. They gave her a shot of Rosefin and sent us on our way. Her fever finally broke tonight and I think she feels better. Wow what a day.

Now Aaron and I have tests for school this week so we will be studying all night. Awesome. We are supposed to get 3-6 inches of snow on Tuesday so our tests may be cancelled. However I will say that I do not want them to be since I have studied all weekend for mine. Aaron has studied all of 1 hr for his.

Here is a picture of Kylie and I at the hospital. She was so tired.

Snow Day

Here are some pictures from last week when we had some snow. We didn't get much snow so there wasn't much to play with, but we wanted to let Blake play in it and see what he would do. He really didn't know what to think about it. However he was really upset when we came back in the house.

I have also included a picture of Blake and he new favorite hat....his Lego box!
